Consultant Solicitor specialising in Contentious Probate Disputes

I work part-time, or in locum roles, for a few firms in the North West as a specialist contentious probate consultant solicitor. The main firm I contract with is Whiting & Mason Solicitors in the Peak District and Cheshire but also currently work with Thorneycroft Solicitors and Thornton Jones Solicitors.

I love my work and believe a dual role between legal work and mediation work allows for me to best help clients. The two roles are different, but both central to the Venn Diagram of resolution of an inheritance dispute.

Recent Mediations

  • LPA Attorney Dispute: Accusation of Attorney of LPA misappropriating funds.
  • Executor Dispute: Mediation before application under s50 for removal of Executor.
  • Shareholder dispute: Two brothers finding a solution to re-allocation of roles following exit of other sibling.
  • Will validity and estoppel claim: three siblings dividing assets including farmland (mediator coach only).
  • 1975 Act claim by ex-partner.
  • LPA Attorney dispute: Siblings.
  • Will validity: Due execution in dispute.
  • Will validity: Knowledge and Approval in dispute.
  • Board Directors: presence of neutral third party before dispute escalates.
  • 1975 Act claim by adult child.

  • NVC Weekend Training
  • NCFE CACHE (Northern Council for Further Education) Level 2 counselling skills certified.
  • NBS (National Bereavement Service) trained.

  • Newcastle University, Bachelor of Law 2:1 (1995)
  • College of Law LPC (1999)
  • ACTAPS (2023)
