Finding Resolution, One Hump at a Time.
It's about perspective. Yours and others.
It's about a conversation. A super productive one.
It's about things in slightly different shades. Stripping down to the conflict's raw ingredients.
It's about trying to find a solution you can live with.
But only if you want to.
But you do want to. Otherwise you wouldn't be here.
My speciality is inheritance conflict, or disputes with an emotional core.
I'm known for being personable with a tool-kit of soft-skills including emotional intelligence and NVC.
I use these skills to help participants explore resolutions around their core values and needs.
Mediation is not a legal discipline. But it can certainly help that I'm ACTAPS trained and my work as a consultant solicitor is 100% inheritance dispute litigation.
Most of my mediation practice centres around 1975 Act claims for financial provision or the validity of a will.
As a business owner for twenty years, and a business mentor, I can also help with disputes around family businesses and partnerships.
I mediate mainly Financial Provision claims, Will Invalidity claims, and Executor disputes. You can learn more about my process and gain tips for a successful mediation in the pages of this site, or through an introductory call with me.
My fee structure includes pre-mediation calls, preparation, travel and any accommodation. To help you with logistics, I have real-time availability. You can secure a date by a small refundable deposit.
I trained with the Society of Mediators, and I continue to invest in training with this excellent cohort of mediators to give you the very best service I can.
I have completed a three year course specialising in contentious probate disputes (ACTAPS) and all my work as a consultant solicitor is 100% inheritance dispute litigation. This is why most of my mediation practice centres around inheritance and family upheaval. I've experience in solving disputes surrounding financial provision, will validity, intestate fall-outs and elder care.
I've trained with the National Bereavement Service and trained at Level 2 for counselling skills because I want to be sure I can offer skilled communication with my clients at this distressing time. Although inheritance disputes are my core area of practice, I can help with business partnership disputes, landlord and tenant claims and holiday claims.
I cannot help with MIAM mediations or disputes that flow from a breakdown of a family unit which will involve family court proceedings (except for 1975 Act claims).
Mediation is a very good fit for inheritance disputes. Family disputes after someone has died are tough. Inevitably, emotions spiral.
Sometimes mediation involving an inheritance dispute can begin to heal family rifts, where a court process and decision might only deepen it.
As we all know, no two families are alike. Mediation offers far more flexibility to a family problem than the courts.
Families can also resolve their disputes in private, usually spending less time and costs than involved in a court process.
